課程概述 |
The course offers students various guided writing experiences based on an
inquiry-format of learning where actual writing of academic essays are
complemented by a study of principles of writing, as well as understanding of
writing procedures, and familiarity with ICT-based writing tools, techniques, and
devices. |
課程目標 |
The course primarily aims to teach general aspects of academic writing, sentence-structure variety and low-level rhetorical modes (e.g. narrative, descriptive, process, illustration), while raising students’ awareness of conceptual and analytical thinking skills, or the high order thinking skills (e.g. definition, comparison and contrast, argumentation). |
課程要求 |
Students are expected to have an intermediate level of English proficiency or its GEPT equivalent. |
